Argentina complains of another “provocation”

26 Jul

Argentina is again complaining that British vessels have been testing missiles in the waters around the Falkland islands.

The Ministry of Defence’s Naval Hydrography Service issued a warning to shipping that missile launches were expected to be conducted between the 16th and 27th July. The Minister for Defence, Arturo Puricelli, said yesterday, that this was; “.. a new provocation by the United Kingdom. To fire shots in an area that is under Argentine sovereignty, whether in the Falklands, South Sandwich Islands or South Georgia, is certainly a provocation.”

He added; “.. all war deployment in the zone of the South Atlantic by United Kingdom is a provocation.”

The report of missile testing was not confirmed by the British Government although there is a six month routine where readiness is checked, and occasionally a dummy missile fired. Argentina made a similar complaint last year, apparently having failed to notice that regular testing had been taking place since the end of the Falklands War in 1982. The Government is trying to convince the world that the United Kingdom is ‘militarizing’ the South Atlantic despite the reality that only one warship is stationed in those waters and a small garrison remains on the Falkland Islands as a deterrent. Argentina has attempted to seize the Falkland Islands on two previous occasions; 1832 and 1982.

“To fire shots in an area that is under Argentine sovereignty, whether in the Falklands, South Sandwich Islands or South Georgia, is certainly a provocation.”” Under their sovereignty? OK, go over and try to collect some tax or speak to the locals in your weird dialect, see how far that gets you.

If the British fart the Malvinistas claim provocation. On the contrary every move the Malvinistas make, every claim, every accusation is designed to provoke the British. They really do think it is big and clever but it is all just basic, infantile mind – f**k – ology from a pathetic troop of time wasters, thieves and war – mongers; with an overinflated sense of their own importance and an expectation that somebody else will fight their battles for them. Impressive. Durch.
